THE BIRTH OF LEVI

Calm.
That was the overall feeling at the birth of baby Levi.

We had talked about how it would be beautiful to document as much of early labor as possible since Jenna planned on laboring at home for as long as she could. But like I always like to say, birth is unpredictable. In the middle of the night they decided to head to the hospital's birth center after intense hours of laboring with contractions that didn't really have a predictable pattern. The contractions were doing their job though!
I met them at the hospital in the first hours of June 10.
Nobody could know it would be another 13 hours of hours active labor before baby Levi decided to come earth side.
Jenna labored beautifully, like a warrior, with Jacob at her side. When we all felt she had hit a wall, they called their close friend in. It was amazing to see the room's energy renewed and Jenna's focus regained.

Baby Levi made his grand entrance at 5:57PM, caught by his dad! And at a whopping 8lbs 11oz!

Birth is hard. Birth is long. Birth is beautiful.
Every Birth Story is unique and beautiful in its own way. I hope you'll see the beauty here. The beauty in Jenn's strength. The beauty in her husband's support. The beauty of team work. The beauty of birth.
