When I heard Victoria was expecting I got super excited! I actually got to shoot her and Paul's wedding along with my husband when I was just getting into professional photography. Documenting their pregnancy and birth sounded so special, like a full circle coming together.

The day of their maternity session ended up being the coldest day we had in South Florida this winter! It was 48ΒΊF that morning, and I was wearing a jacket and a scarf. We were all shivering by the end of the session, but the cloudless sky and perfect sunrise made up for it (in my opinion).

This was one of those days where it was so, so clear, that when my alarm went off at 5am I could already see some light in the sky and had to check all 4 clocks in my house to make sure it was really 5am, when it's usually still pretty dark.

I was also there a few weeks later when they welcomed baby Charlotte earthside. It was a relatively fast birth for a first time mom, and I was surprised at how well Victoria progressed throughout the night surrounded by both their families - who actually made bets on the gender and how big baby would be.

Sit back and grab a cup of coffee, this is a bit of a long one - but it is so worth looking!
